Legends 27 Defectors 26
The Legends got on the board first with a 10 yard pass from Doug Flutie to Roger Craig to
make it 7-0, then the Defectors kicked it in with 20 unanswered points. Brad Corliss
connected with Gregg Valasco on a 10 yard pass, 7-7, then Corliss to Jim Dutra on a 30
yard pass 14-7, the Pro Volleyball player Prince Albert intercepted a throw back on the
kickoff for a TD and a costly missed extrapoint made it 20-7 at the Half.
The Legends fought back with a 5 yard pass from Flutie to Mark Bavaro, to make it 20-14,
then the Defectors scored on a 30 yard pass from Corliss to Jim Burt to make it 26-14. The
Legends then scored on Fluties 15 yard pass on a 2 yard run to go up 27-26. The Defectors
had on last opportunity when Jim Dutra's half back option pass to a wide open Jim Zimolka
was deflected by the Games MVP, Doug Flutie.
Quote of the game,
"I'm glad he deflected it, it would of been embarrassing to drop the game winning
touch down on national TV", Defector Jim Zimolka said.
