The Boston Metro Spring
League came to an end this past weekend as teams battled in out in
five different divisions. In the 8Man Ineligible A division, Old Pro
sports rebounded from a 13 point deficit with eight minutes
remaining to defeat the Outlaws 28-27. Old Pro QB, Al Menino
connected with Mike Gonazalez for the game winning extra point. Old
PRo DB Nick Odom was selected as the MVP as he had two interceptions
in the final two minutes, the final one iced the win. In the 8Man B
Division, it was a defensive struggle but BMF of Lynn,MA came up
with the win as QB Marcos Echeverria ran 25 yards to pay dirt with
just before the 2 minute warning. The BMF defense cam up big several
times as the stopped the Hitmen offense twice inside the 10 yard
line. BMF's defensive lineman Pupa Anderson was selected as the MVP.
In the 8Man C division, LPC of Somerville defeated Pal of
Tewksbury 13-12, as LPAC QB Chris ford connected with Vern Gilcrist
on a 20 yard pass with only 20 seconds remaining to win the game.
MVP was LPAC's #2 Jesse Greagory.
In the 4Man No Contact A division, Wallboard of
Londonderry, NH defeated CWD twice in the best of three series,
32-18 & 21-14. MVP-was WR Arty Hazard. In the 4 Man B Division, L
Town of Lowell double dipped the Bullsharks of Manchester,NH 21-7 &
13-7. MVP was Sye Chanthaboun.

Irish defeat Falcons on last play of the game.
Four Touch downs in the final
two minutes add excitement to this league game for the 8Man B Division game of the
Boston Metro Flag Football League played out this past weekend in
Manchester,NH. The Irish were leading 13-12 with just under two minutes
remaining when they connected on a 60 yard bomb to take a 21-12 lead. The Falcons then
preceded to march down and scored on a 40 yard bomb to bring the score to 21-19 with just
over one minute remaining. The Falcons then retrieved the onside kick and scored from
20 yards out on fourth down to take the lead 25-21 with 20 seconds remaining.The Irish then marched down field and completed a 20 yard tipped pass to Ben
Nugent for the win on the final playof the game. The win keeps the Irish
undefeated on the season.
