Twenty-six teams enjoyed the plush facilities of the Bamford Sports complex, which will also be the home for the World Cup Tournament in February. The Bamford Sports complex is a 110-acre complex with ten lighted fields and a swimming pool.
     Two players from
Venezuela made a guest appearance at the event - Nelson Castillo and Corina Machaddo.  Both are members of the Venezuelan National Flag Football teams, and visited the tournament to familiarize themselves with the complex, and to learn the game from American players. The players’ intention was to prepare their own country for the World Cup competition.
Some teams found the World Cup rules to be a challenge to adjust to. The biggest adjustment was handing back the flag to your opponent and not having your flags inverted. After the initial changes, most teams adjusted accordingly and had a great time - as the weather was a perfect sunny and 75 F.
In the 7-Man Gold action, hometown team Zimmer Alliance prevailed.  Zimmer went undefeated at 4-0, defeating the Terminators of Tampa, FL 26-14 in the Championship game.  Dave Gies was selected as the MVP for Zimmer, and Kevin Adler was selected as the Terminators MVP.
     In the 4-Man Gold division,
Ocala's ICM also went undefeated at 5-0, winning the championship game 24-20 over Riptide of Miami, FL. !  The 4-Man Women's division was evenly matched, as no team went undefeated. Okoye’s Fury of Miami, FL came out on top by defeating the Law Offices of Stephens. Lynn, Klein – also of Miami, FL – in an exciting 13-12 finish for the crown. Okoye’s Fury MVP selection was Jenny Boucek, and Karen Gilbert was selected as the Law Offices MVP.

The Women’s Division displayed a large talent pool, as six women were selected to play for TEAM USA at the World Cup in February.
